Photography is a never-ending creative journey for me. From when I stepped into a darkroom as a child, to photographing sports, to now creating impressionistic and abstract photographic images.Over the years, I have built up a collection of Canon equipment, specific lenses and in-camera techniques. However, for all the sophistication a dSLR can offer, I have found the iPhone affords me greater freedom to capture the spontaneity of our everyday lives and the joy of enhancing the mood of an image with its applications for digital processing. The iPhone's low megapixel camera that is prone to blurring with grainy images especially in dim light is a revealing metaphor of lives that are not perfect, the dark sides concealed behind the facade we present to the world. Its lack of aperture and exposure settings challenge us just as we are challenged in life .... to take a risk and celebrate the unexpected.
Stepping into Light From "The Dance of Light" collection. Throughout the centuries, light has penetrated darkness to allow us to find a direction when our path is obscured by darkness. The light that shines brightly in our mind guides us and allows our path to be seen in clarity, rather than confusion. All images are captured and processed on the iPhone. Limited editions of 10. Printed on Hahnemuhle FineArt Pearl Paper with a border. Signed and numbered on the front below the image.
