Mary Anne Mitchell has been photographing her vision of the world for over 20 years. In traveling, during day-to-day activities, as well as while working as an artist on projects and assignments, she usually has her camera within easy reach. As Cartier Bresson, one of her creative influences once put it, “To take a photograph is to align the head, the eye, and the heart. It is a way of life.” Mitchell has been commissioned by several interior design firms to shoot her style for specific projects. As one client wrote,"Her keen eye for composition and her ability to...capture the emotional content in mundane objects absolutely transforms the traditional subject matter..." Her work is part of the collection of the Sanctuary in Kiawah and the Hotel St. Regis in Atlanta to name a few. Mary Anne has also exhibited her photographs extensively with exhibitions including galleries in Atlanta, Ga, Charleston,SC, San Diego,California, and Woodstock, NY. Working primarily in b/w, she still shoots film and prints the silver gelatin prints.
