Photography Artist Shawn Bohs mixes impressionist vision with digital photography to discover a new appreciation of the familiar or forgotten. His uniquely dramatic compositions distill the world, revealing it in striking arrangements of raw elements and moods.Facets of Shawn's approach echo generations of Midwest farmers. He was born in Missouri and raised in Kansas, putting down roots along small towns and suburbs. Journalism and creative media endeavors shaped his understanding of unifying relationships and underlying beauty. Residency along the Louisiana coast spiced his natural affinity for meaningful spaces. Experiences in the Rocky Mountains, New England and Europe encouraged him to look closer for something greater.Shawn's photographs, poetry and related merchandise have sold at exhibitions and online from Utah to Italy. He has exhibited work at {:m Gallery in Kansas City's Crossroads Arts District, the Corridor Art Space in Kansas City's Westport Entertainment District, the R.G. Endres Gallery in Prairie Village, Kansas and corporate spaces including Cerner, the Cordish Company and McCownGordon in Kansas City, Missouri. Shawn co-created, wrote and photographed the commemorative vignette series Lewis & Clark: 200 Years of Heartland Heritage for broadcast television in Kansas City. His short stories have appeared in the literary journals Pearl and The Distillery: Artistic Spirits of the South.
