I've been photographing my surroundings now for forty years. Photography for me is a way to connect my experiences and my views to you. Still images have a magic to them. They stop time. They make you conscious of the world around you. You see, and are influenced continually by the images you can't avoid. Art should meet the core of a person, deep inside, and stir a feeling; perhaps an old thought, sight, an experience. It should touch a soul, stop it in its tracks and force a response. Judgement, reflection, intrigue, calmness, or even outrage are invited. Art should be simple; it should be complicated. Sometimes the simplest of works can raise the most responses. If I instill an emotion in you, I've done my job.
Brooke's Eyes A child's gaze can be chilling, especially when a child is in need. Stripped of emotion, battered mentally, the eyes tell the story. Mysterious darkness surrounds the young mind.
