Linda Brand, Pencil Artist I am self taught and have enjoyed drawing from an early age. From the age of sixteen I have always been involved 'on' and 'off' with commission work which generally consisted of house drawings using graphite pencils. Given my comittment to full time work in a bank, I have only ever been able to treat this as a hobby.I always wanted to be a sucessful artist but was never in a position to make this happen. In 2003 I left my job and started a family. This has since left me with plenty of free time to concentrate on my artwork. I am pretty excited by all of this as I am now finally where I want to be and able to develop my talent and potential as an artist! In 2000 I received my first set of Caran D’ache water soluble coloured pencils. These are wonderful to work with and am now fully confident with using them.It is great to be able to incorporate the colour into a detailed pencil drawing. Provided this is done correctly, you can achieve a strong depth of colour and really make these pictures shine!
