Art has been part of my life as long as I can remember. For the most part, I am a self-taught artist.

As a young teen I was pencil drawing detailed figures of people and flowers, and focused on shadows and the detail of ones features. My drawings were always done with a pencil. Painting was never an option for many years because I did not have the confidence to apply paint on my detailed work. I thought that paint would ruin my piece of sketched work I had spent so many relaxing hours creating.

Many years passed, before I decided to explore painting. I admired so many artists' paintings and I especially was drawn to watercolor artists. After many encouraging words from my friends and family, I decided to take watercolor classes given locally at an art gallery by a local watercolor artist. Under her direction and guidance I was able to rid the fear of painting over my sketches. First, though, I had to learn how to do a simple sketch minus all the details that I was used to all my life. That proved to be the hardest part of becoming a painter at that time.

Watercolor painting is my first love now. Ever since I started painting the world in my eyes is definitely more colorful, more beautiful and everything that exists around me, is now a subject matter.

Within the past year I have started painting with acrylic on my own and I am also enjoying this medium. I am also having fun doing mural work and furniture painting.

Thank you for browsing my work.
