About This Artwork
In June of 2008 my parents, my brother, I, and our families spent two weeks in Tuscany. The history of the Renaissance, the sheer volume of artwork, and the thousands of churches and cathedrals (duomos) were overwhelming. Despite the looming dimension of history surrounding me at all times, I still found myself irresistibly drawn to the flora of my environs, whether it be wildflowers on the side of the road or carefully cultivated hybrids and exotica in villa and palacio gardens.
