About This Artwork
This pastel painting, Ozark Barn, Autumn is inspired by a photo trip I made along the back roads of Northwest Arkansas in the early 1980’s. The original photograph was taken during the summer, but over the course of a year I have used the scene as inspiration to depict other seasons, weather and lighting conditions. This pastel is the fifth painting of the series. My goal was to depict the scene as I imagined it would look like in the late afternoon light in October.
