About This Artwork
This is a view from Mt. St. Helena looking down on part of the Napa Valley and out all theway to the bay. As i recall we did some wine tasting on the way home after a strenuous walk up the mountain. It was a very hot day, and I don't think we made it to the top.
We are taught that blue in the background adds distance, but this was the fisrt time I realised what can be done with some blue in the foreground. It led me into other discoveries about color. I began to think that I could trust my instincts, and not worry so much about the rules.
