About This Artwork
This pastel is more representational than many of my paintings. I spent almost a week painting with a group of artists led by Colleen Howe on the eastern slpoe of the Sierras around Bishop and Mammoth Lake. i painted this after I got back, but I spent most of an afternoon working at this site while i was there; so i had a lot to go on before i started it.
The subject with the mountains, rocks trees, snow, lake and shadows it irresistable, and I hope i did it justice
