About This Artwork

This work is inspired by my Native American heritage. The theme of four races is a common reference in prophecies concerning the eventual coming together of a diverse human family. Deep reds and violets offset by a quartet of black forms clasping hands pull toward a flying priestess, galloping horses-all references to the Plains cultures of mid-west U.S.
The prophecy suggest that when certain signs are revealed, the four races will come together in peace, but not until struggles are overcome.
The technique is traditional 'papier colle', cut and pasted papers, sealed.
