About This Artwork
I was wandering around a junkyard in Hagerstown, MD, and found a very colorful wrecked and rusted Allis-Chalmers 840 Wheel Loader. It was beautiful, covered with a multitude of colors and patterns. On the left side of the vertical metal plate of the driver's seat, I saw a very interesting pattern. I knew it was something special, but I couldn't tell what it was just yet. When I got back to my studio, I turned it 180 degrees, and, lo and behold, I saw Calgary's crosses, circled in flames, at night, with the moon circling overhead. Unbelievable . . . .
The wheel loader is shown in the accompanying black and white image.
