About This Artwork
Redbuds have long been one of my favorite trees. Not only are their namesake magenta/pink blossoms gorgeous in spring, but even in winter their graceful curves, which seem somehow oriental to me, make them stand out in the forest.
I visit this area often, so I see this particular Redbud in many of its various moods. Most of the time, it looks just like you’d expect a humble little tree on the edge of a humble little lake to look: hardly worth a glance.
But sometimes, when the light is right, this tree – and its entire wetland community of flora, fauna, earth, water and sky – reveals itself in a more spiritual way.
I keep trying to capture that with my camera.
It’s an ongoing process, of course, but this image is one of the facets of that ever-changing prism.
The image is printed 12" x 18", on 13" x 19" Hahnemuhle Fine Art Baryta paper, signed by the artist.
To give the buyer maximum display options, the print is shipped unmounted and unframed.
