About This Artwork
My mother is an accomplished amateur horticulturist that would put many professionals to shame, her gardens spanning over eight acres of open areas, ponds, woods and marshlands. I visit my parents in Bedford, New York at least every other summer and I never tire of photographing my mother’s flowers, outdoor vignettes, and crafted environments.
At first glance, this image looks nearly identical to Pink Foxglove 01, but the background in this one is black and white and has greater contrast to emphasize the grain of the wood. Additionally the color of the foxglove is more saturated and there is an illusion of light glowing from within each glove.
