About This Artwork
Battery Park taken from a ferry on the Hudson River on a cold winter morning. Fog, rain, sleet and snow are all part of this image. I remember this morning. I had just gotten an old Nikkormat and was excited to use it. It was miserable weather, grey, snowy, rainy, and just bitter cold. But is has been so many times that weather like this would make me dig down deep just to keep going. I was on the ferry going to Wall Street and I shot this image through the dirty window.
People feel this image. I so often say that I don't really aim to take pictures of things of places of interest per se. I more often take images of the feeling I have when I am anywhere that makes me feel strong emotions. The images are of those emotions and it's more about being there than anything else.
