About This Artwork
In June of 2008 my parents, my brother, I, and our families spent two weeks in Tuscany. The history of the Renaissance, the sheer volume of artwork, and the thousands of churches and cathedrals (duomos) were overwhelming. We spent two days with our guide Linda – one in the city of Lucca and the other touring some of the grand villas in the surrounding country side. Linda told me that she does not like pictures of herself. Most of us are not comfortable seeing ourselves frozen in a moment of spontaneous expression. Yet it is these fleeting moments that make us most interesting to the people around us. Linda is extremely expressive, part of what makes her an awesome guide!
