About This Artwork
This photograph of Atlantic Spotted Dolphins – a finalist in the National Wildlife Federation’s 34th annual photo competition – was taken in the western Bahamas, near Bimini. Infant dolphins, which only develop spots after one year of age, are usually seen in their mother’s company. These close physical interactions decrease as the baby ages. These energetic swimmers often exhibit friendly behavior, and approach swimmers and divers quite closely. The image is mounted on foam core, matted and framed.
