About This Artwork
After seeing Sonny Rollins live at the Newport Jazz Festival a few years ago, I knew Sonny was one of the few left to carry on the legacy of Miles, Monk and Bird.
I was right. In this painting Sonny is pictured as he did a solo lasting twelve minutes. Not once did he repeat himself.
