About This Artwork
Original Oil on Canvas-This work came from an online search for a Clams Casino recipe. While poring over the internet for a recipe, Susi stumbled across photos of fishermen in the Pacific Northwest who were digging for razor clams, indigenous to that area. The clammers go out at sunset with lanterns and watch the sand for "show", the characteristic bubbles the clams make in the sand. Seeing the "show", they begin to dig, using either a clam spike or a clam gun. The setting sun and rich color enveloping the clammers fascinated Susi and she produced three works for this series; you can email her to see more of them !
