FAQs

Q:
How much does it cost to become a Discovered Artist?
A:
DiscoveredArtist.com offers five membership options to suit your artistic level and budget.
Q:
Why does DiscoveredArtists.com charge a commission rate?
A:
The commission rate covers DiscoveredArtists.com's services and allows us to operate the site. It is the amount deducted from each sale you make on the site. Commission rates are calculated on the final sale price of your artwork.
Q:
Why does DiscoveredArtists.com offer different commission rates?
A:
Artists are in different stages of their selling careers. Some artists are very new to selling and don’t have the pricing power that more experienced and established artists have. As such, we offer varying levels of commission rates to accommodate each artist’s specific situation. Newer artists are charged a lower commission rate, while more established artists are charged a higher rate.
Q:
Are there any additional fees?
A:
Yes. A 3% processing fee is deducted from all sales to cover credit card processing charges. One way for you, the artist, to offset this fee is to upwardly adjust the sale price of your artworks.
Q:
Who sets the price for my individual pieces of work?
A:
You, the artist are responsible for pricing your works. You price each piece of work when you upload and add a new piece to your gallery.
Q:
How can I price my work to offset the cost of sale (commission rate + processing fee)?
A:
All artists on DiscoveredArtists.com will incur a cost of sale for each piece they sell on the site. The cost of sale includes the commission you pay to discoveredartists.com, plus a 3% processing fee.
Q:
Can I try DiscoveredArtists.com for free?
A:
Yes. Every membership includes a 10 day trial period. If after your first 10 days on the site you decide that DiscoveredArtists.com is not right for you, cancel your membership and your annual fee will be refunded to you.
Q:
How do I pay for my DiscoveredArtists.com membership?
A:
You can pay for your DiscoveredArtists.com membership in several ways. You can use a credit card, a debit card or a U.S. bank account to pay for your annual membership. We will be integrating PayPal into this mix at some point soon.
Q:
Is my credit card or bank account information safe with DiscoveredArtists.com?
A:
Yes. DiscoveredArtists.com is committed to providing an extremely secure environment for its artists and art buyers. All transactions on DiscoveredArtists.com are protected using SSL encryption standards. DiscoveredArtists.com's strong security philosophy and practices ensure that personal information is always safe; for sellers and buyers alike.
Q:
Can I pay for my annual membership by mail or an International checking account or some other method?
A:
Unfortunately, no. At this time, DiscoveredArtists.com only accepts credit card, debit card and U.S. bank account payments. In the future, we will offer our International artists the ability to pay via their bank accounts, as well.
Q:
I live in Europe or some other country outside the United States. Can I still become a member?
