Growing up in a village in Germany, I have always been surrounded by animals. The love I have for all creatures is reflected in my artwork. I now live in Australia, and my subject matter predominantly remains the same. In my art I prefer to use real or fictional animals to express my thoughts and feelings about our relationship with the world. The aim I pursue is to give a sense of connection with our fellow beings and produce art that inspire unity with all creation. A sense of humor and lightheartedness are essential to a large part of my works. The titles for my pieces can be thought provoking, so gives the viewer something to ponder over. I often do small series of a particular style, working in mixed media, oil, and acrylic on canvas, wood or plaster; depending on what medium presents itself as most fitting to the desired effect.
