Fine art photography is inherently an unreal perception of time and space. Once an image is "captured", we have to ask ourselves which is more real, the photograph, or the actual memory of the moment in time. To create something that never existed before is a uniquely intimate and personal experience. For some, photography may be about making sense of the world. For me, creating images is the way I connect with a higher power, the invisible force that connects to everything, and the pure spirit of life.
“My life has been devoted to creating fine art photography, and teaching photography at the college level for the past twenty five years." Being able to motivate and inspire young minds has kept me involved in teaching all these years. Creating imagery and exploring many ways of seeing the world is my most valued activity.”
