Artist Peter Heuscher was born in Zurich, Switzerland in 1943. “I was instructed to start my education in a so called "normal profession", so I started an apprenticeship in the field of advertising, design and marketing”, comments Heuscher. “Painting, photography, scuba-diving and woodworking had to be put on hold as just hobbies during most of my career.”
After a long career and an early retirement, Heuscher sold his management and marketing consultancy in Switzerland and began the process of realizing his lifelong dream: immigrating to the Sunshine Coast in Australia with his partner Stefanie, and painting full-time.
“I picked up the brush “for real” again some years ago and started painting professionally in oils, acrylics and mixed media”, says Peter. “During recent years, I have studied the work of several famous artists such as Georgia O'Keeffe and E. John Robertson (famous for his seascapes), and many more artists. I attended many different workshops with acclaimed artists in Australia, but most of my skills could be considered self-taught and refined over the years. I'm constantly challenged by new impressions and different techniques.
