Studio at Murray Mill
Artist in work space This studio is the wash house of an old cotton mill from the 19th century. I have been fortunate to work here for over 18 years. It is a good sized space, about 20x30' with a very high cupola ceiling. It has incredible light at all times of day and is really hot in summer and cold in winter: traditional space.
Studio doorway I love the red doorway to my studio. I like this view looking in with all the space and light and my roommate, Robirda, a guinnea hen who has decided to make the property her home. She appeared last year and always comes in to visit when I am working.
Robirda and my paints Embrace the messy. Art is messy and I must make a mess in order to create. Fortunately, Robirda doesn't mind at all. I require lots of space, paint, stuff and music to make my art.
