Artist's Workspace I have a lovely, second storey studio with a large, north-facing window that overlooks my back garden. The light is always gentle and perfect for the subleties of watercolor. I can watch the birds at the feeders - partridges scratching on the ground, and rabbits nibbling. This serves as a fine meditative diversion while I wait for washes to dry.

Nature is random Like the random beauty of Nature's plantings, my watercolor backgrounds are random. Looking at the color combinations through seasonal changes is a source of inspiration.

Watercolors are my first choice in media. I paint with transparent watercolors and a limited palatte. Keeping my choices minimal, I can make a huge variety of colors by allowing the pigments to flow and blend in their own way. Going with the flow takes on its own meaning in my studio!
