Detail July Frequently a single color, or a layering of colors, comprises the entire painting. The energy and emotion of these fluid compositions is a source of constant inspiration.

Detail Niche Nest At other times textural concerns are the primary vehicle of expression. Materials from the natural world are often used to interesting effect, as here with fir needles and wood pulp. Earth, grasses, charcoal, ashes, and wood chips have all been used.

Detail Red Stripes More recently the subtle beauty of roughly hewn wood has been explored. In Red Stripes, the coarseness of simply painted lath harmonizes and contrasts with a base of smooth veneered plywood.
